Ferry across Merssey

 Today we decided to go over to New Brighton by traveling on the Ferry from Liverpool to Seacombe and walk the 3 mile to New Brighton along the Esplanade and the Magazine store. Its a lovely walk watching all the boats go in and out of the port, you can imagine how it was in years gone bye with hundreds of boats waiting out in the estuary for their turn to unload. However our walk was done with the wind and rain on our back and almost in our 3 mile walk we only met two other people. 

On reaching New Brighton and the rain still comming down in turents we decided to take and early lunch. We found a chippy that in both Menu and decore  was back in the 50s. However food was really good and cheap though Noreen did not apreciate the Pea juice soaking into her Salad? You had best let Noreen explain that one. 

After lunch the rain really started to come down, so we decided to take the advice of one of our diners and take the Bus back not just to Seacombe but direct to Liverpool, It was the best advice we had all day. Having returned back to our boat I realised that we had acomplished the whole journey in 4 hrs that includes the Walk to the Fery, the Ferry Crossing the Walk, Lunch, The return bus journey, and the walk back to the Buggerlugs  all in 4 hours 

How much excitement can one person take in one day  ?????????

  High everyone  Well the time has come,we will be setting sail for our 2023 cruise next Thursday it's been a long time coming this year almost 2 months behind. I am now beginning to get a little concerned with this beautiful weather we are experiencing by the time we set sail we will be low on water and Canal River Trust will again as usual be sat on their backside expecting everyone to do something but them. I am not going to start complaining about CRT I do that direct to them though I do believe that my mail to them reaches the bin before anyone reads it, All I can say is I have an ongoing Campaign to rule them unfit for purpose. Last year's cruise consisted of two trips to Liverpool which is at best and taking your time only a three-day trip, all because Canal river trust know nothing about canals and definitely nothing about boats and boaters. and what they know about water conservation you could put on the back of a postage stamp. crossing Barton Bridge

Barton Bridge carries The Bridgewater Canal over the Manchester ship Canal it is one of the masterclasses in Canal Engineering it is closed at both ends Then  it swing in a 45% angle to allow large ships to pass through bellow,  If you want to see it I believe that they have a practice every Thur morning  However no boats are allowed in the tub Whilst it is moving ?????
