crossing Barton Bridge


Barton Bridge carries The Bridgewater Canal over the Manchester ship Canal it is one of the masterclasses in Canal Engineering it is closed at both ends Then  it swing in a 45% angle to allow large ships to pass through bellow, 
If you want to see it I believe that they have a practice every Thur morning 
However no boats are allowed in the tub Whilst it is moving ?????

  High everyone  Well the time has come,we will be setting sail for our 2023 cruise next Thursday it's been a long time coming this year almost 2 months behind. Ferry across Merssey

 Today we decided to go over to New Brighton by traveling on the Ferry from Liverpool to Seacombe and walk the 3 mile to New Brighton along the Esplanade and the Magazine store. Its a lovely walk watching all the boats go in and out of the port, you can imagine how it was in years gone bye with hundreds of boats waiting out in the estuary for their turn to unload. However our walk was done with the wind and rain on our back and almost in our 3 mile walk we only met two other people.  On reaching New Brighton and the rain still comming down in turents we decided to take and early lunch. We found a chippy that in both Menu and decore  was back in the 50s. However food was really good and cheap though Noreen did not apreciate the Pea juice soaking into her Salad?
